Thalia Theatre

The relationship between the new and the old. Concrete proved to be the best solution for the upgrade of the Teatro Thalia, due to the risk of collapse of the existing structure, the need to rebuild the roofs, and the desire to keep the ruin intact throughout its interior, the texture of which constitutes the final finish of the new rooms.

About Thalia Theatre

We opted for consolidation and reinforcement solutions by carrying out the works from the outside, building a concrete skin that surrounds the primitive structure.

 

The reinforced concrete is coloured and exposed, with a washed finish so as not to reveal the joints of the formwork panels.


In its various works, the Teatro Thalia Upgrade Project seeks to consolidate the history of a place and a building in a structure that revives those memories.
